About

I am an simple, ordinary woman who is constantly amazed by God’s love for me. This blog was sparked after I wrote a small book called Holy Meets Ordinary. I am not yet sure what to do with a blog, but will try it and see what happens.

All my life I had wanted children—and, of course, I knew I would love them—but when my babies were born, I was amazed at the intensity of my outrageous, ferocious love for these precious gifts of life. I also was surprised at how much time was required to care for them! Prior to having children, I had the luxury of spending hours reading, studying, and communing with God. Suddenly, scheduling a shower and laundry began to take priority over scheduling an hour of prayer and quiet time. At first I was disturbed by this disruption in my spiritual routine, but after awhile, I began to ask God to meet me in the midst of the diapering, feeding, washing, picking up of toys, and sleepless nights. And he did.

The Holy One came to me and entered my messy, ordinary life. He gave me eyes to see him from a new perspective—through my children and in the everyday. The Holy penetrating the ordinary is the legacy of the Cross—God comes down to meet us, because we cannot make our way to him. I pray all of us will have eyes to see Him in the everyday.
